Kramnik vs. Leko
The match for the World Chess Championship begins this Saturday, which means over the next three weeks or so you're going to have to put up with a bit more chess blogging than usual. The match is taking place in Brissago, Switzerland.
Russian grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik won the title in 2000 with his surprising, but very convincing, win over Gary Kasparov. This will be his first defense of his title. He's the favorite to win the match, but his opponent, Hungarian grandmaster Peter Leko, is a worthy challenger.
Leko and Kramnik also have reputations for being among the most cautious players on the circuit. Sadly, this sometimes leads to boring chess. Hopefully there'll be enough fireworks for me to blog about!
